Innsbruck! Derek and I went to Innsbruck after our group trip to Salzburg and this is the most beautiful place. The Olympics were here back in like the 60s and they need to be again soon so I can have an excuse to come back. It’s about half the elevation of salt lake but the mountains on both sides go up almost as high as the mountains in Utah. The Alps are amazing. The night we got there Derek and I walked around town and it happened to be a night of dancing and there were concerts all over. Sadly it was also raining. It rained on and off while we were here but that didn’t stop us. We jammed to some Italian pop before heading to our hostel and watching the sound of music. The next day we took two different teams up two different mountains and then hiked the rest. We then came across something called like the golden sky where they had athletes competing in long jump and pole vaulting on Mariatheresienstraße, which is the main shopping street. This trip has been the highlight of this

I’ve hit a peak on this trip both figuratively and literally. On Monday I was super sick with a major headache and sore throat and I thought to myself, “perfect, I’m sick just in time to travel.” I slept almost that entire day in hopes to get better. Tuesday morning I felt slightly better. However, I still wasn’t in tip top shape. I took the train from Vienna to Salzburg with my study abroad group. We have a group message called, “Vienna Sleeps” where we post pictures of each other asleep so here are some action shots the first is of Derek and the second is Virginia. After checking in at our hotel, we got a quick tour of the city to see where things were. Of course we saw a lot of the places where “Sound of Music” was filmed. They actually have a “Sound of Music” tour but we sadly didn’t do it. Here are a couple of landmarks in Salzburg that should be recognized from the movie. The first three pictures are all on the same property and the horse bath is on th

I’m so sorry to keep all of you waiting! Two Monday’s ago I took a bus a half hour south of Vienna to the Laxenburg Schloss. Enjoy a picture or two. There was also a church Next up are some pictures from the national library that I visited on Tuesday. With my class afterwards we visited some churches and worked on describing them in German. I would include pictures but if you’ve seen one it’s kind of like you’ve seen them all. Not actually but kind of.  Friday was  a very eventful day. For my class we went to the art history museum and it was beautiful. I’m more about performing arts but I was very intrigued by the exhibits they had. They had Egyptian, Greek, and Roman artifacts, renaissance paintings, and plenty more, which I didn’t have time to see. I think this was the most beautiful building out of every one I’ve been in. That night was Lange Nacht der Kirchen or long night of the churches.  We attended organ concerts and choirs at
